Autism-vaccine link debunked — too little, too late

It's weird that people fell for this stuff. Because of this, many diseases have happened that wouldn't have if the parents let their children be vaccinated.

Reader Question: Autism and Vaccines

This is a question for you readers. What is your opinion on the reports that say that vaccines cause autism?

In short, I think that it isn't true with no true scientific backing.

Zac Web Browser - Zone for Autistic Children

I came across a web browser for autistic children.

"Zac Browser is a totally free software package. It is the first Internet browser developed specifically for children living with variants of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Asperger syndrome, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, PDD not otherwise specified and PDD-NOS, also called atypical autism.

Zac Browser was designed to offer a pleasant, rewarding and secure experience. Children sing, play and discover the best that the Internet has to offer with only a few clicks of the mouse."

Study links freeway pollution to autism

In a recent study, the conclusion is that freeway pollution can possibly lead to autism. I think people should stop these studies. In all this time, it is still unknown how people are born autistic. First, it is possibly vaccines and now it is possibly freeway pollution. I'm also tired of how articles like this one call autism a disorder. Use of the word disorder makes people think that autism is a disease (like the opinion page in my last blog post) or that autistic people are messed up since birth.

Autism: A Disease of the Rich?

I came across an article in The New York Times Opinions Pages titled Autism: A Disease of the Rich?. First off, autism is not a disease. Autism doesn't spread in any way. It is something that people are born with. The article also says that autism is mostly common among children of wealthier families because of paternal age. I don't see how the paternal age effect and wealthy families fit together.

I'm Different Poem

My strong suit is not poetry, so it's not a masterpiece. It is just to let people know how I and other people with Asperger's Syndrome feel.

I'm different,

I'm not considered normal,

You may think I'm weird,

Strange,

Crazy,

Annoying,

You don't know the real me if you do,

I have a form of Autism,

Asperger's Syndrome to be precise,

It makes me sad when people don't treat me nice,

Just because of how I act,

Treating me right is what should be done and that is a fact,

I have no friends,

I spend a lot of time by myself,

People pick on me,

But they can't see,

That it's wrong to do that to me,

I get good grades in school,

but I struggle a lot in school which is not cool,

I don't know how I can live on my own,

I'm scared of what the future holds.

Mother Gives Son Marijuana to Treat His Autism

In an article from ABC News, it tells the story of a mother that helped her son's behavior with marijuana infused brownies. Not only is this controversial and not believed by myself, marijuana is illegal. In the article, Dr. Sharon Hirsch states that there is no evidence that marijuana helps autistic people. She says that all it does is get the child stoned and addicted. With this child's problems, she said it may lead him to psychosis including schizophrenia. The ABC News article also references an article from the magazine Double X where a mother said that she helped her autistic son by giving him marijuana cookies.

What is this world coming to when adults believe that drugs can help autistic people? There is no possible way that it can. No doctors use it or recommend it, but some parents do it. That is very irresponsible of them at so many levels. I think that the parents should do jail time for that.
